Competition Details

  • Case Assignment: Students will receive the case they will be researching and creating a project around two weeks before the camp. This allows participants to familiarize themselves with the case and conduct preliminary research.

  • Camp Overview: Upon arrival at the camp, students will be given an overview of expectations for their projects. They will also be assigned to groups consisting of three members each.

  • Crash Course & Support: Participants will receive a crash course on the online programs they will need for the competition. Throughout the event, they will receive guidance, help, and feedback from mentors and organizers.

  • Project Work: Students will have dedicated time on Friday evening and most of the day on Saturday to work on their projects. The goal is to have their projects completed by Sunday morning.

  • Judging: Projects will be presented to a panel of five judges, who will evaluate them based on various criteria. Two teams will be selected to receive scholarship awards.

  • A total of eight $800 scholarships will be awarded.
  • Scholarships can only be applied if the recipient attends West Virginia University as an Energy Land Management Student
